Cafe Laguna Ayala Center Cebu

Cafe Laguna is a popular restaurant here in Cebu, and has 2 branches in Ayala Center.  Because the one here below is bigger than the other branch (it has a second level), it serves mostly as the venue for catering events - wedding receptions, parties...

We love the interior design, cozy and warm, and just enough space without being too crowded. The food are popular Filipino dishes. Prices range from 250+ Php upwards, which is just the usual price range here in Ayala Center for most fine dining.  For visitors to Cebu, it is in a convenient location, because it is located right across the taxi bay.

Siam Thai Cuisine Ayala Center Cebu

Siam Thai Cuisine is located on the lower level of Ayala Terraces.  In terms of space, it is small - but it has nice interior design. Clean and simple.

I haven't tried a lot of their menu yet, but you can check their FB site (click on the Siam Thai Cuisine link). Prices are the usual price range as in other restaurants in the mall. But so far, we enjoyed what we have ordered. And service is okay.

That's my sis indulging me.  I asked her to pose for posterity..

Glass walls provide a view to the gardens outside.  Their location is also convenient to the nearby parking area.

La Vie Parisienne - Cebu City

My sister and I have always been curious about the hype created for La Vie, so finally we decided to visit it. I think, it is over-rated.  But it is not bad.  For a place we go to enjoy some wine, it is not noisy nor smoky.  In fact it is nice. But it is not a place to dine, because there are few choices.  And except for the unique colored trees and the lavender lights, nothing is really extraordinary about the place. It is just Cool...

I have this allergy for something alcoholic, so a bottle of wine for us is out of the question...

I was truly fascinated by the chairs with changing colorful lights... There was a hammock shaped like a Hershey chocolate but some Korean guests were there so I thought it might not be good to take pictures of the hammock with them inside. They might not like me taking pictures of them.

I had poor shots, so I did not take a lot of pictures here.

Because there were only 2 of us, we chose that white table there... near the Pizza booth.  It was a bit far from the patisserie and the wine cellar. And far from most of the guests.

If you are a big group just wanting a place to chill, there is a place for you here. Big comfy sofa and a big table..  I noticed that most of the guests are young and they usually come in groups.

We ordered Hawaiian Pizza, but let's just say, there are better ones than the one we had.  See the burnt edge over there...  not good.

Verdict - just a cool fun place to hangout with friends and enjoy our fave wine... By the way, it is located in Gorordo Ave, Lahug Cebu City. About 5 to 10 minutes to JY Square.

Night Scenes At The Ayala Terraces

When the sun begins to set in Cebu City, Ayala Terraces on warm beautiful days sans bad weather, begins to throb with life!  Tables begin to be filled, and garden lights would illuminate the beautiful gardens. People chatter can be heard giving life to the place, but no not to the point of being noisy. Just the lively drone that gives life to a place...  (Click on the picture below to get a better look at the picture).

I am proud of the design of the Ayala Center because the architect made use of natural lighting - sunlight, and the green gardens make the place cool to the eyes. I have seen pictures of malls in Kuala Lumpur and I don't think Ayala Cebu can compete with these mega malls yet. But Ayala Center Cebu is eco-friendly. If you are a visitor, the exits provide easy access to public transportation like taxi and jeepneys. And the car parking is not a problem for those customers who bring their own car (except for very busy seasons).
